Hi, I'm Biba. I'm a marine biologist, science communicator and animator, and the founder of Curious Kelp.
With a background in marine biology and research, I understand the detail, care and curiosity that goes into scientific work.

I started Curious Kelp as a way to combine that scientific understanding with my love of visual storytelling and animation; to create content that makes complex ideas clear, engaging and enjoyable to watch.

Curious Kelp began as a personal science communication project in 2023, before growing into a dedicated science animation studio.
Why Curious Kelp?
I've spent years studying science and working in conservation, and one thing I've seen again and again is that fascinating research often struggles to reach beyond the people already working in the field.

Too often, important ideas are locked in jargon-heavy papers and complex data, They're vital, but they can be hard for anyone outside that world to access.

Good science deserves to be understood.
